C.E. Hammock is the creator of the Sheepy and Bunny Are Friends children’s book series, crafting soft, imaginative tales that invite young readers into magical worlds filled with friendship, kindness, and wonder.
Born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, he still calls it home, finding inspiration in the quiet, everyday magic of storytelling. He holds Master of Arts degrees in Religious Studies (Missouri State University, 2001) and English Literature (University of Missouri – Kansas City, 2008). But even with all those scholarly credentials, Clint never quite outgrew his childlike imagination—a fact made lovingly obvious by the stuffed animals who still share his bed, including a well-worn teddy bear who’s been with him since childhood.
When he’s not helping Sheepy and Bunny go on their next big adventure, you’ll likely find him reading Jesus novels, or spiraling down a YouTube rabbit hole (with a glass of tea or soda and a few plush sidekicks close by), and tending to two demanding kitties.
At heart, Clint is a dreamer—writing stories that gently affirm: the world is still full of good things, and softness can be its own kind of strength.
Sheepy & Bunny’s FAQ About Clint
Who is Clint?
He’s our writer, our friend, and our favorite human. He gave us names, backstories, and warm places to nap between chapters. He brought us to life with words, silly giggles, and a little bit of moonbeans. Technically, he’s a fifty-something man living in Missouri. Emotionally, he’s an unusually literate child with too many story ideas, a tender heart, and a complicated relationship with cereal.
Does he really sleep with stuffed animals?
Yes. And we are proud to say we are among them.
What’s his favorite snack?
We think it’s toast. But sometimes he eats cereal at 11 p.m. while staring off into space. (It’s very artistic.)
Can we trust him with our stories?
Absolutely. Clint writes like someone who’s been cracked open by loss but still believes in light. That’s someone we trust.
Does he live alone?
Not exactly. There are two cats who think this is their house (one of them sits on his keyboard—rude), and there’s a human named Mother who makes sure everyone’s fed and adored. We are very fond of her.
What kinds of stories does he write?
So many!
- Supernatural fiction with ghosts, angels, and mysterious grace. Those stories are to scary for us.
- Fanfiction about Dean Winchester, Castiel, and a gentle reimagining of Jesus. We love the baby Jesus. We don’t know who the other two are.
- Children’s stories—like ours—with kindness, naps, and tricky feelings lovingly sorted. Even an occasional poop joke.
- Blog posts about writing, daily drama, and tea (so much tea).
Some stories are sad. Some are silly. All of them are sincere.
What is Cehammock LLC?
It’s Clint’s self-publishing home. He got tired of waiting for permission to tell his stories, so he created it. He says Cehammock LLC is how he holds his creative world together—with string, stubbornness, and a bit of holy mischief. We approve.
Why do you mean so much to him?
Because we were born from both joy and grief. A dear friend inspired our very first story, and when he passed away, Clint kept writing us as a way to honor their friendship. We’re proud to be stitched from something that still aches and still hopes.
What’s Clint like, really?
He drinks too much tea and soda, naps when he can, talks to us like we’re real (which we are), and believes in soft things even when the world isn’t. He’s sometimes sad, often sincere, and always brave. His stories make stuffed animals feel seen. They make us feel seen.
