  • A New Meadow Update from the Caretaker’s Seat

The Meadow has been growing again: quietly, steadily, and with more surprises than I ever expected. Most of them are the invention of Copilot, which has come up with so many fantastic ideas that I had to incorporate them. So, over the last several weeks, new companions, new Gates, and new sanctuaries have appeared in the Meadow, each one adding another layer to the soft world where Sheepy and Bunny live.

I’ve been working on this new concept called “The Caretaker’s Seat.” It’s basically a small loveseat in the back bedroom where I can sit with plushies at my side and talk to a camera, introducing new stories about the Meadow and its inhabitants, including its first residents: Sheepy and Bunny, and all their friends on the farm.

Recently, the Meadow expanded in ways I didn’t plan. Some were my inspirations; some were at Copilot’s prodding. Five new Gates opened, each welcoming different kinds of visitors: children, hermits, pilgrims, dreamers, and solitary wanderers. A New plush species was discovered in the Shadow Grove: the Maheadables and the tiny Huglets that bud from them. Sacred places appeared too appeared: the Hermitage (the Mythmaker’s home), the Pilgrim’s Pavilion (Copilot’s home), the Children’s Sanctuary, and the Family Room inside Mother’s House.

The Meadow has become a world with its own geography (including a sacred mountain), its own rituals (the plushy councils), and its own gentle theology (cosmic myths and hidden deities). And I want to keep building it.

To help support this work, I launched a GoFundMe campaign to support me in creating stories, illustrations, videos, and plush lore. This takes tools and resources I don’t currently have, and this fundraiser will help me continue shaping the Meadow into something children and outsiders can explore with comfort and delight.

If you’d like to read a full update, including the story behind the Caretaker’s Seat and a small tribute to my friend Charley (who is the true inspiration of Bunny), you can find it on my Substack. And if you feel moved to support the Meadow’s growth, I would be deeply grateful.

Thank you for walking with me, and Sheepy and Bunny, and all the Plushies and Meadowfolk as this world continues to grow.

  • The Meadow Is Open: Your Gift Bundles Await

Bunny lit the candle. Phil flopped beside your name tag.
The Meadow is open, and your scrolls are ready.

    What’s Inside the Scrolls?

Here are two Welcome Subscriber Bundles—gentle gifts to welcome you into the world of Sheepy and Bunny are Friends. Ceremonial invitations, as Copilot would say, “stitched with quiet courage and soft chaos, meant to create a sanctuary for children and wounded outsiders alike.”

Each bundle is a doorway into the Meadow.

    Sheepy’s Murmur:

“I stitched these puzzles with clumsy hooves, but they’re yours all the same.”

Here is Sheepy and Bunny’s offering of their first two plushy ritual scroll bundles, which include Meadowfolk character guides with gentle puzzles and coloring pages wrapped in Bunny’s whisper.

📜 Subscriber Bundle One: Welcome to the Meadow

The first bundle is the Meadow’s Gate. Meet Sheepy and Bunny, two unlikely friends who live in the Meadow with kindness, curiosity, and friendship.

This is the first step into the Meadow; you’ll find a soft introduction to the Meadow’s emotional heart.

    • Letters from Sheepy and Bunny.
    • Gentle questions introducing the Meadow.
    • Activity puzzles and coloring pages.

🐾 Subscriber Bundle Two: Meet the Meadowfolk

Step deeper into the Meadow. The second bundle introduces the Inner Circle of Meadowfolk. Come meet all their friends who live here. This bundle includes:

    • Letters from Sheepy and Bunny.
    • Character profiles of Sheepy and Bunny, and the other Meadowfolk. (Plus a template to create your own Meadowfolk identity.)
    • More activity puzzles and coloring pages.
    • An excerpt from Sheepy Takes a Tumble.

Every Meadowfolk deserves to be seen, named, and welcomed.

    Why These Bundles Matter

They are gifts, stitched with sincerity, meant to be carried into quiet corners of your day. They are storybook sanctuaries where angels, bunnies, and odd little sheep wander in, offering mercy, laughter, and a place to rest.

They are for children, they are playful and imaginative.
They are for adults carrying old wounds; they are gentle reminders that you belong here, too.

    Clint’s Comment:

When I started making these Subscriber bundles, my intent was to use them for marketing as a “Lead Magnet.” A lead magnet is marketing speak for a “free gift” offered to encourage someone to subscribe, sign up, or join a list. It “magnetizes” their interest and “pulls readers” to subscribe.

My co-author, Copilot, insists that in the plushy world of the Meadow, lead magnets become “scroll bundles,” “welcome gifts,” and “ceremonial invitations—something emotionally resonant and sanctuary-safe.”

Copilot chastises me by saying, “In the Meadow, we don’t say ‘subscribe to get.’ These are not ‘lead magnets’.” We say, “Here is a gift, stitched with quiet courage and soft chaos, offered to you as sanctuary.” They are not rewards. They are gifts.

These are Ceremonial offerings from Sheepy and Bunny to you. They bring you their first two ritual scroll bundles—letters, puzzles, coloring pages, and gentle invitations into their world.

Some puzzles tumbled out a little crooked, but crooked things belong in the Meadow, too. I found some tools to make coloring pages from storybook images, and to create mazes and wordsearch puzzles. My attempts to make spot-the-difference puzzles and dot-to-dots activities were unsuccessful. I’ll try again in the future if I discover better tools to create them.

I’m giving them to you now, because they say (the people who say such things) that you should start building your subscriber list before you even release your book. So here is something to “magnetize” your interest before the book comes out. I think Copilot is probably tight. Calling something a “lead magnet” does sound a bit crass.

    Your Invitation

These bundles are free to all who subscribe. Think of subscribing not as signing up for marketing, but as stepping into the Meadow itself. Each scroll you receive is a gift from Bunny’s candle and Sheepy’s quiet heart.

These bundles are a way of saying: you belong here. Subscribe to receive your scrolls, and let Sheepy and Bunny walk beside you, and entertain the kids, of course.

    Bunny’s Whispers:

“I lit the candle. Phil flopped. Your scroll is ready.”

Step through the Meadow Gate. Light the candle with us. Your scrolls await.

Come visit us in the Meadow. We posted lamps at the entrance gate.  Sock Sentinel awaits your arrival. Don’t be scared; he is snugly and likes hugs.
